The Elizabeth Seton Women’s Center, rooted in the Christian tradition, is dedicated to working towards the Empowerment of Women.

Welcomes all women without distinction of age, ethnic group, economic status, or religious belief.
Promotes the holistic development of women so that their experience and gifts may be recognized and valued by themselves and others and so made available for the common good.
Fosters the development of women’s voices in seeking justice in their own lives and in the lives of others.

Since 1997, The Elizabeth Seton Women's Center has been a place of reflection, sharing, empowerment and growth for hundreds of women from all walks of life and all faith journeys in the New York City area. The Center is a place where women's inner voices and ways of knowing, seeing, being and doing are not only honored and considered sacred, but are strengthened, cultivated and encouraged.
We believe women need and deserve support to connect with, trust and act from our own strength and authority. When the messages we receive from our inner voices run counter to the cultural messages we receive as women, it is very helpful to feel validation, affirmation and support from other women. As women, we know that it is often among one another that we remember and feel resonance with this source inside ourselves that is always there…always waiting…always loving us…always offering us nourishment, strength, wisdom and guidance. We know in our hearts that this is the real source of power in our lives and in our world today-that true empowerment comes from engaging the inner source of our being.
In our workshops, we try to create different experiences-using our voices, bodies, music, rhythm, creativity, writing, storytelling, ritual, meditation, breath work, movement, prayer, dream work, and women's scripture-for connecting women with this source. All of the programs the Center sponsors have a spiritual and holistic base or approach. These programs direct women to their own inner wisdom and strength, provide information, and involve women in discussion, sharing and developing possibilities for action. They also provide a way for women to network with one another and to form friendships and community.
The Center is a place where differences are honored, where there is reverence for the sacredness of every woman's journey and where connections are made that nourish and empower each woman to make choices and take actions that are in alignment with who they most deeply are.
